Volunteers needed!

We are looking for volunteers for the following project: We really need a manager for each project. That manager can put together a team to help them with their project.

1. State coordinators to put together awareness events in your state. Please check HERE to see if your state has a coordinator yet and if any events are being planned in your state! If there is not already a coordinator please contact lisa@whatislyme.com to become one. We also need someone who will contact the media about this campaign.

2. Online Campaign Manager
Anyone who is on We are looking for someone to help spread the word across Facebook and other media about this event. We need a lot of people tweeting, pinning and Face booking to make a difference. So we need some people who will step up and motivate others to do this. Maybe you can start a Worldwide Online Campaign Event to help us promote this and keep it updated. We also need someone who will contact the media about this campaign.

3. Ribbons Across America
We need someone to manage this part of the WWLDAP. The basic duties would be to promote this event online. Last year we got home depot to give us free ribbons. We need someone who would work with a nonprofit (last year LDUC volunteered to help) So maybe contact Judy Weeg from LDUC and ask if we can use their nonprofit # again to get stores to donate ribbons. This all has to be arranged ahead of time, last year we tried and it was too late, so anyone who could get started on this now would be great! If you know of a different non profit who would let us use their tax # to get donations that would be great too! We also need someone who will contact the media about this campaign.

4. Samantha's Green Light Project
We need someone to manage this part of the WWLDAP. The basic duties would be to promote this event online and inspire everyone to turn their porches green! . Last year we got home depot to give us free green light bulbs. We need someone who would work with a nonprofit (last year LDUC volunteered to help) So maybe contact Judy Weeg from LDUC and ask if we can use their nonprofit # again to get stores to donate the light bulbs again. This all has to be arranged ahead of time, last year we tried and it was too late, so anyone who could get started on this now would be great! If you know of a different non profit who would let us use their tax # to get donations that would be great too! And it doesn't have to be Home Depot, any retail store would probably help out.  We just need a non profit tax # to show them. We also need someone who will contact the media about this campaign.

5. Google Plus Photo Album Campaign
We need someone to help promote this! Also help Lymies who don't understand how to get their pictures and stories on there. We also need someone who will contact the media about this campaign.
This is a really super important job and a huge undertaking. We need someone who can alert the media to what the Worldwide Lyme Awareness Protest is all about. You will have to write up press releases. Each state can write their own, but you will be in charge of motivating each state to write one, and make sure it is emailed out to all the media. This will include newspapers, tv stations, celebrities and anyone you can think of that might make a difference. Here is a letter that Kenneth Mercure wrote for us last year to use, and we can use it again this year. So there will be a press release for each state AND this letter that will need to be sent out to as many people as we can.
Here is the letter Kenny wrote and a list of media from last year, feel free to add onto it or make your own list.

7. Billboards Across the States
This will be challenging. We definitely will need a team of people to work on this. We will need a volunteer or better yet a team from each state to help work on raising funds for billboards and for figuring out costs and locations.

8. Fundraising
This is the least fun one, and  probably the hardest. Since we are not a non profit, it makes it even harder to get donations. I would like to have 1 main manager that would help find a manager for each state. Each state will be responsible for raising their own funds. The WWLDAP is purely grass roots. We are not a non profit and don't have a tax id #. I will try to get some of the Lyme organizations to help us with this, or whoever becomes the manager of this can. But in the meantime we have to come up with ways all on our own to fundraise. So having one main manager that will be good at helping each state coordinate this would be fantastic, I know last year we all spent a lot of funds out of pocket.
Here are some ideas to help raise funds.
